GUIDING STAR ORCHESTRA
Guiding Star Orchestra is a 11-piece Roots & Dub collective based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Formed in 2018, the band is exploring the universe of meditative and spiritually uplifting dub & reggae music, with inspiration from the early days of the genre.
The band's music is based on instrument al compositions using only analog gear when recording and mixing.
The music consist of a heavy drum & bass backdrop underneath melodic and playfull melodies from the 4-piece horn section, and mixed with the effects from the dub-engineer
During the years the band has released 2 albums and 5 singles, and are currently working on the next album, due to release in 2024. The releases has been a collaboration with the recognized record label Tribe84.
The band has been circulating with heavy rotation worldwide in reggae radio stations, most notably on David Rodigans show on BBC1Xtra, creating alot of positiv reviews and attention.
